Foodservice Distribution Truck Drivers Earn More

Truck drivers looking for the most lucrative work need look no further than the foodservice distribution sector.According to the IFDA, International Foodservice Distributors Association, foodservice distribution delivery drivers, specifically those with a CDLA, earn higher wages than most other trucking categories.

The survey examined hourly positions in almost 100 distribution companies, including 60 foodservice distributors, and covers 1000 locations nationwide. Truck Driver Recruiters confirm and survey results show that while truck drivers earn more, on average, than hourly positions in all other industries, delivery drivers far out-earn all US workers and other types of truck drivers. The average annual wage for foodservice truck drivers is now $67,291.This figure has increased from the 2017 average of $62,854.

In comparison, the average salary for heavy-duty truck drivers is $45,570 and light truck or delivery services drivers average just $36,920.

In addition to the higher than average pay, trucking distributors tend to offer generous benefits packages.
